This class is for the expectant couple only.

ATTENTION: Due to COVID19, please be advised that during this time for the safety of our patients, all our expectant parent classes will be held remotely. You will receive a packet of literature and a link closer to the start date of your class. It is critical to provide an email address and home address that is valid where all significant information will be sent. Thank you.

To give birth in the Mary V. O'Shea Birth Center, you must be a patient of the Saint Peter's University Hospital Midwifery Practice and  you must complete a two-session Birth Center Class by week 36 of your pregnancy.  These classes are Orientation to the Birth Center and Early Discharge from the Birth Center.

This class is offered one day every month from: 9AM-1PM 

Partner attendance is strongly encouraged.

The fee is $40.00.

Please register as soon as possible for this class.

In the session of Orientation to the Birth Center, we will review the philosophy of the midwifery model of care, birth center criteria and birth center exclusion criteria.  We will also discuss the support system, available comfort measures, birthing tools, your birth plan, and additional classes.
