The mission of the Department of Pharmaceutical Services, is to provide services intended to foster the rational, safe and cost-effective use of medications while providing the highest quality pharmaceutical care possible. The pharmacy staff is comprised of hospital-based pharmacists, clinical pharmacy specialists, an informatics coordinator, lead pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians. Members of the pharmacy staff provide pharmaceutical care and patient education throughout the institution to ensure safe, effective, and rational medication therapy. Saint Peter’s utilizes an electronic medical record, computerized order entry, barcode administration, and smart pump technology. Practice areas with designated clinical specialists include: Infectious Diseases, Internal Medicine, Adult Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, and Pediatrics.
